Noble S. (Samie) Harrison, Jr., age 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 14, 2013 after battling leukemia. He was born in Wichita Falls on December 14, 1940, to Marie Frazier Harrison and Noble (Sam) Harrison, Sr.
Samie was a lifelong resident of Wichita Falls, attended Crockett and Ben Franklin, Zundy Junior High, and graduated from Wichita Falls Senior High in 1959. He served in the United States Marine Corp, and graduated from The Oklahoma Military Academy in 1963. He graduated from North Texas State University in 1966 with a degree in business administration. Samie owned and operated the Lincoln Heights Apartments for forty two years. He was a devout Christian, and a faithful member of Edgemere Church of Christ.
He was married to Marveda Moyer Harrison on February 14, 1986. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Jimmy.
Samie was loved by all who knew him, and he dearly loved all his friends and family. He always treated all people with respect and courtesy, was a friend to all, and a true gentleman. He was a big sports fan. He loved football, basketball, baseball and golf, and also followed local sports teams with great interest. He especially loved horse racing, and spending time in Ruidoso, N. M.
Survivors include his sisters, Annette Clinton and husband Jerry, and Janette Gaddy of Ardmore, OK; nieces Beth Farmer of Chicago and Cynthia Boyd of Oklahoma City; nephews Kendall Roberts of Yukon, OK, Shawn Scholl of Wheeler County, TX, Kevin Scholl of Henrietta, TX, and Ron Clark of Allen, TX; two grandchildren, Shelbie Moyer and Jeremy Moyer; his daughter in law Sheila Kuykendall, and his dearest friend and companion, Carol Webb.
Honorary pallbearers are Roland Albus, Richard Boyd, Harvey Kitchens, Don Liggett, Mark McCorkle, Ben McCorkle, Keith McCorkle, Brent McCorkle.
Memorial service is scheduled for Friday. October 18 at 2 p.m. at Edgemere Church of Christ, 4728 Neta Lane, Wichita Falls, with Gilbert Peters and Dr. Isaac Butterworth officiating. There will be a reception/visitation for all his family and friends after the service in the dining hall at the church.
