Saturday afternoon, David Villa Arizola Jr., 21, died in an apparent one-vehicle motorcycle accident that shut down much of the Lloyd Ruby Overpass.
About 11:30 a.m. Wichita Falls Police Department officers responded to an injury accident in the 1100 block of the Lloyd Ruby Overpass traveling south.
"The person riding the motorcycle was ejected and came off the overpass down onto Holliday Street," Sgt. John Spragins, WFPD public information officer said.
First responders and paramedics attempted to revive Arizola on scene, performing CPR and other life- saving measures. Arizola eventually was taken to the United Regional emergency room by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
According to a news release, the initial investigation revealed he was traveling south on the Lloyd Ruby Overpass and was ejected from his motorcycle. He went over the guardrail between 11th and 12th streets onto Holliday below.
Spragins said Arizola died as a result of accident injuries. The WFPD crash unit responded and is investigating the cause.
The accident shut down a portion of the freeway for more than an hour as investigators worked the scene. The bike continued traveling the distance to the exit to Kell Freeway West.
Help from the Wichita County Sheriff's Office and DPS steered motorists away from the overpass. Arizola's body will be sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.

If he died as a result of his injuries, what is the purpose of sending his body to the Tarrant Co M.E.?
