Recently, I joined friends for breakfast at a local restaurant.
I looked around and saw the wait staff clearing tables of dozens of glasses of water that were left untouched.
In our present water-restriction condition, I was appalled at this waste — and this goes on at every restaurant in Texoma.
Not only was the water wasted, but there was ice in the glasses, and the glasses have to be washed — using more water.
I would like to suggest that every restaurant in Texoma stop automatically serving each guest a glass of water. If the guest asks for water, by all means provide it. We did this previously when we had
a drought, so it is nothing new. Imagine how much water we can save, just by doing this one thing.
