Joe Burton, Wichita Falls
Thornberry’s plan to avoid the sequester cuts is to delay health care reform for two years.
He neglected to address how his plan would impact rising health care costs. The general consensus is that the single largest contributor to rising health costs is having to provide services to the uninsured.
Delaying health care reform would mean delaying insurance to the currently uninsured and continue the upward spiral of health care costs. It might save the cuts to the defense department, but certainly will not help with the cost of health care.
Actually the sequester is doing exactly what it was intended to do. It is forcing congress to compromise since they refuse to do it on their own.
Health care reform, no matter how much Thornberry personally dislikes it, is the law of the land. He needs to live with it, and do the job he was elected to do.

JAY CARNEY, WHITE HOUSE PRESS LIAR: The sequester was something that was discussed, and as has been reported, it was an idea that the White House put forward.
OBAMMY: First of all, the sequester is not something that I proposed, it's something that Congress has proposed..........?.........How can anyone be stupid enough to believe this idiot.

Boehner got 95% of what he wanted. This is what he got. Now he and others lie about it. The president won election with 53% of the vote and over three million votes, congress has a 9% approval rating. I think I will go with a winner.

Oh yeah, Joe. Obamacare has, so far, done a marvelous job of reduoing healthcare costs. I can hardly wait until it is fully implemented. Good grief!
