Hoagie Jackson, Wichita Falls
So now that we have reached stage three of our water restrictions it leaves me wondering as to where the money went to build a lake at Ringgold — probably toward some city park or Riverwalk, fancy little doodad stars in the middle of the streets or an addition to the water park.
Now the city is installing a temporary pipeline thinking this will resolve the problem. They seem to find a way to receive grants for such things as fishing ponds or a Riverwalk, but not our water supply. I am currently drafting a petition and will recruit protesters until we get our water problems resolved.
Remember citizens of Wichita Falls, the city officials we elected are not doing their job.
Let us stand up and hold the city accountable for the money they received from hard working taxpayers like you and I to get this Lake built, after all we paid for it and it should have been built 25 years ago when prices were cheaper.
I am tired of excuses from the city and the city is spending thousands of dollars for research and studies while not accomplishing anything. How much more are the citizens of Wichita Falls going to have to put up with before we get what is rightfully ours and paid for by us.
It is time to stand up for what should have been done many years ago. With water we lose jobs, potential industries and growth to the city resulting in a major loss in revenue. Water is the most important thing to the citizens of Wichita Falls not some fishing pond or addition or addition to a water park or bike trails or fancy stars in the middle of the road.
After all we pay high premium price for water that we are going to have to pay more for now that we are in water restrictions. So I ask that the citizens of Wichita Falls stand up and voice your opinion.
