Panhandle 33, Seymour 16

SUNDOWN — The Seymour Panthers couldn't overcome four turnovers Friday night as the Panhandle Panthers took advantage of the miscues for a 33-16 win in the area round of playoffs.

Panhandle jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the second quarter before Tanner Gillispie put Seymour on the board when he connected with Zack Barton on a 23-yard scoring strike. Panhandle put another score on the board to make it 21-7 at the half.

Seymour narrowed the points on the board to seven in the third quarter when Gillispie found the end zone on a 5-yard run.

Panhandle ran off another 12 points before Seymour scored a safety in the fourth quarter when the opposing punter ran out of the end zone.

Baltazar Castro finished the night for Seymour with 121 yards on the ground and Barton had 146 yards through the air.

Seymour finished the season at 8-3.
