AMARILLO — Craig Miles ran for 108 yards and two second-half touchdowns, and Quanah ended the season for Sundown with a 34-21 win in a Class A Division I area playoff Friday afternoon at Dick Bivins Stadium.
Miles' 2-yard run with 2:36 left in the third quarter put the Indians (9-3) up 26-15, and they held on from there to advance to the regional quarterfinals to face Stamford at a time, date and site to be determined.
Sundown, the co-champion of District 2-1A, Division I, ends it season at 8-3).
Edward Torres rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns for the Roughnecks, who trailed by just five at 12-7 at the intermission but could never cut into the Quanah lead enough to take control of the game,
Landon Morgan's 40-yard pass from Kyler Marshall with 6:50 left in the game pulled Sundown to within 26-21, but Miles iced it with a 3-yard run with 2:44 remaining.
