THROCKMORTON — The Newcastle Bobcats busted out with 28 points in the second half of this Six-man playoff game Friday night to take a 50-38 win and hand the undefeated 11-0 Aspermont Hornets their first loss of the season .
Michael Moreno led the Bobcats with 118 yards on the ground and two scores. Tyler Mays was perfect on the night with 3-of-3 passing for 75 yards and two scores.
The Bobcats (8-4) held a 16-6 lead at the end of the first quarter before Aspermont put 20 on the board in the second quarter. The Hornets held a narrow 26-22 lead heading into the locker rooms.
Newcastle held the Hornets scoreless in the third quarter en route to a 34-26 lead after three quarters of work. They out scored Aspermont 16-12 in the final stanza of play.
