Anson's Jalen Garza was the player of the game in this one as he had a hand in all their scores. He rushed for 113 yards on 14 carries and 3 TDs, while passing for 209 yards and 2 TDs. Windthorst would get on the board first with 8:37 left in the opening quarter on a 20 yard Matthew Pittman run. The Tigers would respond with a 44 yard drive as Garza would score from 8 yards out on fourth down. The teams traded punts before the Trojans would take the lead again on a 9 play 81 yard drive with Dylan Chambers scoring from ten yards out. Windthorst's starting QB was injured on the drive and his night was ended prematurely with 8:40 left in the game. The teams traded turnovers late in the half and the Tigers would make the Trojans pay as Garza would score his second TD on another 8 yard run with 2:49 left in the half. After a three and out by the Trojans the Tigers were back in business at the Windthorst 38. They would score four plays later on a 19 yard Garza pass to Hayden Stovall to take a 20-14 halftime lead.

The second half started with another Trojan three and out, but Anson fumbled the ensuing and the Trojans would recover. However on the next play Anson would recover a Windthorst fumble at their 38. Five plays later Garza would score from 3 yards out and Stovall would catch the conversion to increase the lead to 28-14. Windthorst would pick up their first first down since scoring with 8:40 left in the 2nd with about 8 minutes remaining in the third as they responded with a 7 play 72 yard drive that ended with a 3 yard Pittman TD run with 5:12 left in the third. Following the kickoff Anson would start at Windthorst's 45 yard but would end on downs at the 41 yard line. Windthorst senior lb/FB Jose Sanchez would be lost for the game with 3:27 left in the 3rd. Windthorst freshman Garrett Syrus, who was pressed into his first varsity QB duty of the season, would score from five yards out tying the game at 28 with 37 seconds in the 3rd. Chambers would intercept a pass attempt and return it to the Anson 45 with 10:25 left in the game. But on 3rd and 3 from the 38 the Trojans would fumble the ball and Jared Villanueva would recover for the Tigers at the 45 with 8:51 left in the game. Two plays later Garza connected with Stetson Meek for a 49 yard touchdown to complete the scoring.

Anson made the plays in the fourth and got the stops when they needed them.
