Rider quarterback J.T. Barrett and Wichita Falls High School receiver Chance Garey were honorable mentions on the 61st Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 4A all-state football team.
Barrett rushed for 1,515 yards and nine touchdowns while passing for 1,604 yards and 14 TDs on the Raiders' state quarterfinalist squad.
Garey caught 74 passes for 1,146 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Coyotes.
Aledo running back Johnathan Gray was 4A's Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 3,886 yards on 347 carries with 65 touchdowns. Gray, who has pledged to the University of Texas, added 26 catches for 517 yards and five touchdowns.
Denton Ryan defensive lineman Mario Edwards, also a Parade All-American, was the 4A Defensive Player of the Year.
Edwards had 28 tackles for losses, including 10 sacks. The 6-4, 285-pounder will attend Florida State.
Lake Travis' Hank Carter was 4A's Coach of the Year.
