Notre Dame lands 5 on all-state list

Notre Dame junior Cody McElroy was named to the TAPPS Six-Man Division II All-State football team on both offense and defense, while senior Hunter Quintero also was selected at two positions.

The duo was joined by three teammates — seniors Cobi Niedzwiecki and Danny Otto and junior Wesley Brinkman.

McElroy was a first-team pick at defensive back and running back.

Quintero was a first-team pick on the offensive line and on special teams.

Niedzwiecki earned first-team honors at receiver, Otto at quarterback and Brinkman at kicker.

The Knights advanced to the state semifinals before falling 54-52 to Fredericksburg Heritage.
