Defensive linemen Paul, Stallcup named to AP first-team

Munday's Blanford Paul and Windthorst's Dylan Stallcup were named to the AP Class A first-team defense when the all-state team was announced Sunday.

Seniors Paul and Stallcup made up half of the first-team defensive line. Paul finished the regular season with 70 tackles, 24 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks for the state finalist Moguls.

Stallcup racked up 90 tackles, five sacks and six pass breakups for the District 8-A Division II champions.

In addition, the Trojans and Moguls each had a second-team selection on the AP squad — Munday offensive lineman Lee White and Windthorst safety Tyler Berardi.

Windthorst had the most honorable mention selections with four — lineman Derek Mankins, kicker Jordy Cruz and linebackers Chase Schreiber and Braydon Ingram.

Munday, which will face Tenaha on Thursday in the Class A title game, had three honorable mentions in lineman Logan Groves, quarterback Dee Paul and linebacker A.J. Serrato.

Other area honorable mention selections were Electra's Rodey Shafer (lineman), Tyler Coats (linebacker) and Blaze Lynn (linebacker); Seymour lineman Blake Atnip; Quanah linebacker Brandon Heard; and Petrolia linebacker Tyler Sullivan.

Tenaha quarterback Reginald Davis was named Class A's AP Offensive Player of the Year after passing for 1,191 yards, rushing for 1,005 more and combining for 35 touchdowns during the regular season.

Ben Bolt linebacker Ivan Gonzalez was the Class A Defensive MVP after making 162 tackles and causing eight fumbles.
