Six-Man State Championships

DIVISION II

Richland Springs 76. Motley County 28

ABILENE — It was the Denim Reeves show Saturday night as Richland Springs romped to a 76-28 victory over Motley County in the Class 1A six-man Division II state championship football game.

Reeves rushed for 295 yards and eight touchdowns on just 12 carries, scoring on runs of 70, 42, 8, 41, 37, 26, 41 and 25 yards. He also threw a six-yard TD pass to Danny Tillery for another score. Richland Springs ran only 20 offensive plays in the game but scored 10 touchdowns.

The game was called by the 45-point mercy rule after Reeves scored on a 25-yard run on the third play of the second half.

The win means Richland Springs (15-0) has now won five six-man state championships since 2004, including two in a row.

Aaron Rogers had 126 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns, including a 75-yard kickoff return, for Motley County (13-2).
