Something most people don’t realize about coaching is: We have never gotten on the board and drawn a play that we thought wouldn’t work, and then ran it.
Who inspired you the most in your profession: I have four — the Lord; Jim Garfield as my college defensive coordinator; my coaching mentor, Scott Ponder; and my life mentor, Dr. Bob Carpenter.
My best coaching memory so far: Winning a state championship my first year coaching at Petrolia. The town was fired up!
