The Times Record News Top 10 poll is compiled by sports writer Zach Duncan and is indicative to a team’s performance relative to its classification:
1. Throckmorton (1-0) — Win over No. 3 Follett even more impressive considering key players out.
2. Ryan (0-0) — Cowboys open up Oklahoma season with tough road game against Fox.
3. Seymour (1-0) — Panthers’ defense did allow several big plays, but did force four turnovers in overtime thriller.
4. Holliday (1-0) — Eagles had four different players take the snap from center in rout of Windthorst.
5. Graham (1-0) — Steers’ defense picks up where it left off last season in 10-9 victory.
6. Archer City (1-0) — Wildcats win their fifth straight season opener behind two long Marty Jentsch TD runs.
7. Knox City (1-0) — Greyhounds shrug off costly turnovers to rally past Greenville Christian.
8. Iowa Park (1-0) — Hawks owned first and last quarters, outscoring Pampa 28-0 during that period.
9. WFHS (1-0) — No area team has as many weapons in the passing game as the Coyotes.
10. Burkburnett (0-1) — Bulldogs need to shore up defense, but won’t face a faster team all year than WFHS.
